Standards, Licensing and the Rules
Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?
Everything from your boundary in is your responsibility, while Sydney Water looks after the main in the street. We can work out where the blockage sits and tell you which side of that line it's on before any work starts.
Do you provide proof of licensing on request?
Yes. We're licensed and insured, water and gas, under NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C, and we're glad to show it before the job starts, no need to ask twice.
Do I need a licensed plumber for emergency repairs?
Yes, plumbing and gas repairs in NSW have to be carried out by a licensed plumber, even in an emergency. A licensed local plumber also means the fix is done properly the first time, not patched over.
What NSW rules apply to plumbing and drainage work?
NSW rules require plumbing, drainage and gas work to be carried out or supervised by a licensed plumber, with gas work handled by appropriately licensed tradespeople. We work within those rules on every job, no cutting corners to save time.

Booking and Availability
What's the fastest way to reach you in an emergency?
Call (02) 9140 0159. A real person answers the phone, day or night, and we'll talk through what's happening before a plumber's even on the road.
Can I request a specific time window?
Yes, tell us what works and we'll do our best to fit it, though a genuine emergency will always jump the queue. For same day service that isn't urgent, we'll agree a window with you over the phone.
Do you charge more to come out faster?
No. $0 Call Out Fee applies whether the job's urgent or booked ahead, and the price we agree on-site doesn't change because we turned up quickly.
Can I call you for advice even if I'm not booking a job?
Yes, call (02) 9140 0159 any time. If it's something you can safely check yourself, like the isolation valve or the water meter at the front, we'll talk you through it before deciding if a visit is needed.

Pricing and Quotes
Do you ever charge more once you're already on site?
No, fair, upfront pricing, no surprises, is how every job runs. You approve the price first, and that figure stands even if the job turns out messier than expected.
How does your pricing work?
We look at the job, give you a fair price before we start, and you decide whether to go ahead. We don't charge by the hour, so there's no clock running while we work.
Can I use the $65 offer with any service?
$65 off your first service applies across our emergency plumbing work for new customers. Mention it when you call and we'll apply it to the job.
How do you decide what a fair price is for emergency work?
We price the job itself, not the hour it happens to fall in, so a burst pipe at midnight isn't marked up because of the time. Best Price Guaranteed backs that figure once it's agreed.

Questions Specific to Drummoyne
What should new Drummoyne homeowners know about the area's plumbing?
A lot of Drummoyne's housing dates back to the Federation era, so older clay and earthenware drainage is common under the newer kitchen or bathroom. It's worth knowing that history is there even if nothing's gone wrong yet.
What's different about servicing Drummoyne compared to other suburbs?
Drummoyne sits on a peninsula, so a good few of our call-outs are on foreshore streets that can surcharge in a heavy downpour. That's a different failure pattern to a suburb further from the water.
Do Drummoyne's older terraces still have galvanised supply pipes?
Plenty of the Federation-era homes here were fitted with galvanised supply pipes that are well past their working life by now. If yours hasn't been replaced, corrosion inside the pipe can be quietly cutting water pressure without any visible leak.
What plumbing issues come up most in Drummoyne this time of year?
Storm season brings stormwater surcharge on the lower foreshore streets, which can back up drains that are otherwise fine. It's worth knowing which way your stormwater runs before the next heavy rain event, not during it.
